NYSSA awarded the Heloise S. Ham Scholarship to three deserving participants from the SEMI program: Patrick Dluzniewski, Baruch College; Sameed Musvee, Columbia University; and Joseph Tinti, Fordham University.
The SEMI (Scholarship, Education, Mentoring, Internship) Program is a summer initiative open to undergraduate students who are enrolled full-time in a college or university in the greater New York area. During the summer, SEMI students attend weekly breakfast presentations given by leaders in the financial industry, are mentored by NYSSA members, and intern at investment companies. SEMI seeks to assist aspiring investment professionals in their career development and usher in a generation of investment professionals to uphold the tenets of the Society.
After completing the SEMI Program, each student is evaluated by their internship employer and SEMI mentor. Only those students who display the highest level of professional ethics, initiative, a willingness to increase their knowledge about the investment industry, and go above and beyond at their internship are considered for the scholarship. Congratulations to the three recipients who are well on their way towards a successful career in finance.
